In this case, I'm thinking temporary would be about 10 seconds - just long enough to jump from behind one rock, take a couple of cheap shots, and jump behind another rock. Recharge would be about 20 seconds, then.

just make sure its not too easy to get. how about there could be small stations called upgrade stations and you have to gain a certain amount of points to buy power ups.

Sounds like a good idea to me! Points being accumulated by kills and successful acts of sabotage, I imagine.

As well as upgrading old ones. You could probably buy armor there, too. Or new skills, like invisibility or perhaps minor teleportation.

So, shops for differrent sides could sell different things. So perhaps if you were trying to complete a collection, you could also steal weapons by raiding enemy shops.

There could be stuff like innoculations or bioweapons or something, as local viruses and stuff were supposed to be a factor in certain places.

Maybe there could even be diseases in general for each side, weakening or even killing off large numbers of available troops. That way, sometimes there would be missions where you have to raid enemy territory to get a vaccine.
