Simple question, do you prefer 2D or 3D Metroid games?

And the winner is - HYPNOTOAD -
Not that simple, the 3D ones vary: Prime Hunters is more "FPS" than the others
I like Hunters the most, but Zero Mission is also fun... the prime trilogy I haven't tried much

Have to say 3D. 2D is fun but hard and really short.....the 3D games are longer, easier and have much better stories. They immerse you in the game so much more. The biggest thing I have to say is the scan visor. I love that thing so much! Downloading useless but cool info is so satisfying....

Scanning does add something of a "collect 'em all" element, come to think of it

In every single Prime game I've played I've gotten 99% scans. Every time! Always a 1 time scan I miss.... Curse you Ram War Wasps! Curse you Chyklings!

I would say 3D. The 2D Metroid games were hard on my eyes because of the sprites and the way some of them were colored. The 3D games added more atmosphere, excitement, and the creations of the creatures just made eveything to seem to come to life. I definently prefer 3D.

I think I prefer 3D as well though I wouldn't mind seeing another 2D game.

2d. The 3d games are great, but it's hard to do much with the Screw Attack, which is one of my favorite aspects of the game. I hate not being able to see what's behind me. Also, you only get 2 jumps; space jump doesn't do much.

I think they added the screw attack into MP2 because fans were annoyed that it wasn't in MP.

It was cool but not very useful and hard to handle. Is it in MP3?

I've never passed a 2D Metroid game, but I prefer them.

I don't know yet. Metroid Prime Hunters was fairly easy to play but Metroid Prime 3 is just frustrating. I can't seem to figure out what to do next, and I end up going in the same spots over and over again. I'm only 11% in the game and I've had the game since Christmas! I haven't played it that much, and when I do, it just frustrates me.
Is Metroid Prime 3 supposed to be a lot harder than Hunters?

MP3 is more of a tradional 3D Metroid game. Personally, I think MP3 is better than Hunters because of this. Although Hypermode difficulty is incredibly hard.
Oh, and the percentage next to you file indicates the amount of items you have, not how far through the game you are.

I have yet to go through on hypermode, but it is an amazing game. I though Hunters was really good though....
