This is either going to be an interesting and fun general discussion thread or a major spamfest. Please, people don't spam!

In terms of approval, OL1V3R was in charge at this time so he's allowed for this to go ahead. I agree really that we should try and have interesting discussions.

Here are two other Last person to post wins threads:

I reckon if there's one event that we (Britain) win a gold medal in, it will be rowing.

The headline in the newspapers after the opening ceremony was, "London won't match that ceremony".

I don't know about rowing or anything, but at about 2 this morning I watched Michael Phelps and the rest of the American team beat France in the 4x100 freestyle relay at the last second by 8/100ths of a second and shatter the world record by almost 4 seconds. I don't think I've ever been more excited while watching the Olympics.

It's in Chinese, I know, but bear with me here.

"We're sorry but this video is no longer available"

Just because a video works on Youtube doesn't mean it will always work on other sites. But I'll take your word for it.

Britain won a Gold Medal in Womens 400m Freestyle yesturday.

The opening Ceremony was amazing!!!

How did they do that, holograms or something?

Still, the whole thing reeks of the Berlin Olympics

Togo won their very first Olympic Medal in canoueing. Not much for some but it's always nice to see a country win a medal for the first time.

Wait, what does it mean, no longer available?!?! It worked when I put it up! Argh......

Either way, I didn't get it off of Youtube. Here's where I got it. Except it's not up there anymore either.

Anyway, Australia won the women's 4x200, shaving 5 seconds off of the world record. And the United States completely decimated the competition in the men's 4x200. The cameraman had to pan back to get anyone else onscreen at all.

Great Britain set a new Olympic Record in 800m Women's Freestyle today. The swimmer had also won a gold medal in 400m Freestyle.
