I made this cool Guitar Hero-themed image for my new YouTube account, to put at the start of all my videos. I made it with a trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS3.

That's pretty good. Will you use your existing channel or have you made a new one?

My existing channel is called Vort3X, but I've abandoned it and will close it down.

I have a new one called OL1V3R666, and it has 4 videos on it.

Good channel OL1V3R. I might have my own channel in the future but I'm not sure right now how I'm going to record directly from a TV screen.

Perhaps your best bet is a digital camcorder, but in order to record it effectively, you'd need to have a capture card for your computer. Furthermore, you'd need a computer in the same room as the Wii.

By the way, I made a mock-up of a Guitar Hero screenshot. What do you think?

Very good screenshot..

I think I'll probably just record the screen on a digital camcorder. I could borrow one off my sister.

Ahem:

We have this thing called a DVD recorder

Use a DVD RW, and you can use the same disk to keep transferring files between machines

We don't have a DVD recorder here at the moment, and they would probably be quite expensive. I'm not sure what the cheapest price is.

I wouldn't be so sure about a DVD recorder: when I used to have one, there was a delay between the command on the controller and what you see on the screen, which may make gameplay difficult (especially if it's a music or a fighting game).

Yeah, I can see why that would be a problem when recording Gameplay.

My console's routed through a DVD recorder, and I'm fine

Try using faster cables, make sure the connections are clean and good

And where you can, calibrate lag (like guitar hero will let you)

And if you film your screen, the quality will be terrible (and you would need an extra person to film you whilst you play)

I've seen people film their screens on Youtube occasionally because they don't have the proper equipment.

So would a capture card or a DVD recorder be cheaper?

Depends on the make, model etc.

A DVD recorder plays DVDs as well, though

I might stick with simple movies in Windows Movie Maker for the time being.

However, now we've gone way off topic, so let's try and get back on topic (yes I know it was my fault for going off topic but I have to do something to make sure the rules are followed.
