This is a thread where you can discuss the stages you are going to make or have made if you already have the game.

I'm planning a Tourian stage based on the room with Mother Brain.

I'm making a cage. Just a flat platform, with two towers to the top of the screen.

I found that it's a bit restricted and a lot of your plans wont work, but my best themed stage is the windmill from LoZ:OoT.

And the winner is - HYPNOTOAD -

I'm thinking, a stage on top of a giant pie.

I have made a couple stages where it is very hard to KO an opponent. The fights make for long and frantic action. You can reach as much as 800% damage before being knocked hard enough to be sent out. It also leads to many laughs! :D

I also created this one stage that is made of pure ice. I just used ice for the floor and then ladders you can climb up on to get a quick break from sliding too much. I called it Reddy Ice. :P

Can you get lasers in the stage editor? If not it doesn't matter, as I could still do the layout of Tourian.

And I didn't even know you could make custom stages! That is so cool.... :D

The mapmakers in the TimeSplitters trilogy are addictive enough - a SB arena editor is just going to devour my free time!

I'm going to make a pacman stage

Good idea NXtreme. So our Wii will have a Tourian stage and a Pac-Man stage.

Tourian is my version of a caged match.

You forgot to mention the pie

I meant stages saved on mine and NXtreme's Wii. It would be interesting to try your pie level though.

I built a stage almost entirely made up of moving platforms. A couple of stages, actually. I also made one that's sort of a Zelda stage, actually. It has a big platform on top, a line of falling blocks on either side of the middle, and a floor with a big stump in the middle. There's a Triforce in midair, though.

I think I'll make a stage made up entirely of triforces. Or maybe it'll just be a giant triforce. With lots of little triforces in the middle. Or something.

Also, I'm gonna make a stage that's just a tunnel of spikes, with a couple of moving platforms in the middle of it.

can you choose the path of the moving platforms? because they'd make great ghosts for my pacman stage as long as you can cover the moving platform in spikes

I'm going to make an APERSON Stage, built out of my username.

I just had an awesome new idea. A RETRO goomba. Yep, good old RETRO goombas. Teehee.  I like that word! RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RETRO, RET--*shot*

And in turn, you could have a retro Mario.

Which opens up a plethora of exciting possibilities

Anyway, I've made Tourian. DarkAce, I see what you mean by it being kind of limited. You can't even choose the start positions. I didn't really want players to be able to get on top of the stage, but oh well.

NXtreme made Moving Mania after his Pac-Man idea failed.

it is kinda possible to choose where the players start. have only four spquares of suitable starting floor. i made Moving Mania which is made ENTIRELY out of moving platforms except for four tiny platforms for you to start on. i've also made Mountain Skies which is a stage with four tiny platforms at the top and one big moving platform going up and down in the middle with two tiny ^&v platforms next to it. thats it.

I've made TheAPERSON, a stage that spells my name. I realised early on the I couldn't spell it out horizontally so I had The at the top, A in the middle, and PERSON at the bottom.

Next up, Stage of Many Deaths. I can show you my planned layout now actually.

It's a shame the map editor is a tad limited, but I'll try to make the most of it anyway. I have made a map called "The Great Brawl" which looks rather generic: ladders in the middle, platforms in the top corners, spikes at the bottom.

I may consider making one called "The Dreaded Cubicle", which just consists of all of the players inside of a giant box, but I'm not sure if it will work.

Trust you to come up with a name like that :P

A Tetris stage would be great

Stage of Many Deaths is going to be hard.

NXtreme and I have had a lot of Smash Balls in our matches.

I've made all of my ideas, other than the RETRO goomba. I'll work on that tomorrow.

there has to be at least one gap so you can knock players out of the arena. and to stop fighter appearing on top, use spikes for the roof

If the arena is entirely enclosed, or in enclosed areas, players are still susceptible to screen KOs (thrown into the screen, then fall down comically)

What makes the map so fun is that there is a restricted space inside and lots of spikes, so people can accumulate lots of damage and go flying inside the box (and hopefully out of an opening). Here's what the stage looks like now (I have considerably modified it):

The ladders are there in case someone happens to end up outside of the box - should I remove them?

NXtreme and I have unlocked more parts for stages, conveyor belts and something else which I can't remember.

I had to name Stage of Many Deaths Stage of Death because it wouldn't fit otherwise.

I've also modified Tourian so you don't start outside the stage.

i've now made a stage called Smash Factory which is made mostly out of conveyor belts and moving platforms

I wanted to make a Phendrana Drifts stage, but I changed my mind as soon as I started using the stage editor. And I'm really bad when it comes to making stages in games.

I was going to do a Phendrana Drifts Arena but I wasn't sure because the layout is 3D and this is a 2D arena. So I did Tourian instead.

I've made a Triforce, Goomba (RETRO, of course) as my art stages. Any others I can do?

I haven't made any stages in a while, but NXtreme is addicted to the stage editor so he's made quite a few levels.

Oh man, I'm so lazy. I haven't made any new stages for about a month and a half, now.

The Tetris stage that OL1V3R, Hypnotoad and I made is great.

being addicted to the stage maker, i've made about 1 nearly every day. i've made 2 more stages. Elevator, which is like a caged arena (with a few holes) that has 3 floors and a big moving platforms at the side. and Desert Ruins which is a hard stage made up of spikes, moving platforms, and enclosed spaces

Desert Ruins is deadly. I guess by the end of today you'll have made another.

When I get Brawl, I'm making a cage stage.

Just make sure you use spikes for the ceiling, otherwise your fighters will start on the top.

I made a couple of completely enclosed arenas. I just used falling blocks for the ceiling. Oh man.....


I got launch speeds of 80499mph using Marth with three Marth CPUs, Smash Balls only, and double launch rate. I got speeds of 80560 or so when I used Ike on the same setup.


Just a random thing here. In the practice stage for online brawl, what's the high score for longest hangtime of the sandbag. I got exactly 2 minutes once, and could've gotten longer if I hadn't gotten bored.

i made a stage called Dead End which is a large stage that has one big wall at the right and a roof made entirely out of spikes with one hole in the middle. four blocks come out of the bottom of the wall and there is a small <> moving platform next to them. two ^v moving platforms are above the four blocks. you have to be good at horizontal recovery for this stage

I made a bunch a stages where expertise in aerial combat is highly recommended.

i made a stage like that  called High Fly Sky where everthing is made of springs except for 4 falling platforms right at the top for you to start on (you can't get back to these as there's a roof of spikes) and one falling platform at the side in case you can't activate your final smash in the air

Sweet. Do you mind if I 'borrow' that idea? :P

I might make a new stage in the future but I'm not sure.

Edit: I've made two new stages, Spike Scrapyard and Airship Fortress. Airship Fortress is an Airship and has the Airship theme from SMB3, while Spike Scrapyard is enclosed and has spikes as the platforms, meaning your damage percentage just keeps going up (it has the Scrap Brain Zone music.

i'm going to make a stage called Floating Island which is just a small platform in the middle of the stage with spikes at either end

As a follow-up to the fantastic Tetris Temple, I'm thinking "Dead Tetris Field": whilst the former was like a Tetris game in progress (complete with tetriminos made of falling blocks), the latter will look like a lost game of Tetris (so huge piles of blocks, etc.)

I made a stage called Triforce Temple which is in the shape of the Triforce. I had to change it slightly so that it would be playable but what I did I'm pleased with.

i've also made a stage called Spring Prison which is a cage stage where most of the floor is springs. and i was also given a message saying "you've unlocked all the unlcokable parts!"

Well, DarkAce did say it was a bit restrictive.

If they ever do a stage editor again, then they should have Nintendo Themed Backgrounds since everyone wanted to make Nintendo stages when the editor was announced. I've done my best with Tourian and Airship Fortress, but hopefully there's better to come.

Dead Tetris was a success - except P4 always spawns trapped in a small space

The code can generate the stage on another console?

no, but you need to name the stage file this code by using the SSBW software built into the site. look at the site FAQ for more information

I've created Pinball Table and Freezie Frenzy now. Freezie Frenzy is basically a Freezie.

I made one that has the entire screen covered in ladders, on that has four small platforms on top and a bottom row of spikes, and one that's just six millwheel things, along with various experimentation with the triforce-type stages.

BTW, did anyone else notice that when it's the brown backround, random explosions occur across the screen if nothing happens after a little while? Particularly in Sudden Death.

I'm still thinking of a good idea for a stage...

I thought that in Sudden Death, Bob-ombs rained down after a while anyway.

in sudden death on any stage, if a sudden death match takes too long then bob-ombs rain down on the stage.

i've made Sonic Coaster, (http://supersmashbros.ign.com/stages/8347/Sonic-Coaster) (a rollercoaster like level which is perfect for sonic to roll around on) Bridge of Ruin, (a bridge of falling platforms with spikes underneath) Execution Pit(click here), (http://supersmashbros.ign.com/stages/8353/Execution-Pit) Ancient temple, (a small stage shaped like a temple) pokemon center (shaped like the ground floor of D/P pkmn center) and Death Chute (a drop that requires good wall jumping skills)

I've made Snakes And Ladders, which is sort of based around Snakes and Ladders, but due to limited memory, only the bottom half is shaped like this.

now i've made Tall Tall Mountain (http://supersmashbros.ign.com/stages/8460/Tall-Tall-Mountain) from SM64.

and it turns out you don't need to take note of the stage code.

The explosions aren't random, they'll be explosive weapons - bob-oms actually go off themselves, as well

It IS interesting. Next step, an actual Nintendo designed Tetris stage were an actual Tetris game is going on.

That's the only Tetris level that would beat this in my opinion.

You can get USB card-adapters v. cheap - I got an SD-USB adaptor for just one quid a while back

I need some inspiration for a stage. I'm not sure Metal Gears and Building Site quite cut it.

And a quid, or a pound sterling (UK), is worth a bit over a dollar (I can't be precise, as exchange rates are erratic lately)

I might do Kraid's boss battle room from MZM.

It would be a Small Stage, although Kraid will have to be taken out of the level.

You could make a large stage based on his Super Metroid room, too.

Maybe, though I haven't played Super Metroid (apart from on Brawl of course, but that's only a trial).

Ratiqu, is that video just a representation of what your stage looks like?

Yes and no. It is a visual representation of how the stage would look in general (minus Kraid, of course), but it's also the actual Kraid's room from Super Metroid. Just in case you hadn't figured that out in the first place.

I might try building that stage, but at the moment, the Wii game I've wanted to go back and play after being on holiday is Okami.

So much for borrowing it then :/

Stage-wise, I'm thinking: Tal Tal Heights!

The music is already there (once unlocked), the stage can be full of bridges and ladders just like the area in Link's Awakening

And conveyer belts would recreate the rivers well

If only one of the backgrounds was a giant egg...

Haven't played Brawl in a while. Like Melee, I'm only playing the multiplayer now. The beat 'em up that I'm interested in at the moment, (even though it's not on a Nintendo console) is this.

I completely agree. I did buy legends ( :-[ ) for about $20 (probably about 13 euros and $22 Australian) and I think I paid about $18 too much.



I'm running out of ideas for new stages, though.

NXtreme did a Zack and Wiki stage recently. I haven't seen it though.

I'm stuck for ideas for stages again.

Though I feel because NXtreme makes so many stages, all our Brawls are on Custom Stages rather than the ones that are already there.

APEs made a Final Fantasy (http://supersmashbros.ign.com/stages/10322/Final-Fantasy) stage and a Soul Calibur (http://supersmashbros.ign.com/stages/10323/Soul-Calibur) stage

Hopefully they do well.
